Area Manager, IT, Northamptonshire & Bedfordshire region

Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT) are looking to appoint an IT Area Manager. 

IT Area Manager

PCC Grade 11; points 32 to 36 (£35,745 to £39,880 per annum)

Hours : 37 hours a week, 52 weeks a year

Working as part of a dedicated team you will lead the IT support functions of our IT service to assist the staff and students within your Academies and across the wider schools supported by the Trust providing a professional, customer focused service and support.

You will be responsible for a group of our schools within your geographically assigned area. You will manage, lead the IT staff within your group of academies, assigning tasks to them and ensuring they are supported, challenged and responding to the day to day issues within your team’s area.

Within your team you will manage staff from apprentice level up to 2nd line technicians who will require different management approaches to get the best results. It will be up to you to decide how best to deploy your team across the schools you manage, with variations required throughout the year, to ensure staff and students are supported and helpdesk requests are dealt with quickly, efficiently and resolved properly.

You will be responsible for managing the procurement and life cycle of IT assets within your area, ensuring that assets are recorded and monitored. Working with our finance and audit teams you will ensure the assets are accounted for and reported regularly.

You will work closely with your team, the Customer Service Manager, Technical Services Team and IT Director to ensure issues are followed through to completion in a timely manner. This role will test your logic, common sense and judgement as you manage projects to deliver classroom upgrades and enhancements. You will manage the IT budget for your schools ensuring you work with others to develop the IT refresh plan. You will meet with the Academy Principals and other senior leaders in your area to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. You will also meet yearly with the Academic Councils (Governing bodies) for your schools to discuss IT related matters.
