Residential Property Conveyancer

We are seeking a Residential Property Conveyancer to join our busy Residential Property Business Unit.  The Team is based in the Cambridge office but we will consider other locations.

A busy unit which boasts a great client base needs a safe pair of hands with an experienced CILEX or Licenced Conveyancer, who can demonstrate a track record and the highest of technical skills as well as excelling in providing a quality service and client care.

The Residential Property Team uses a case management system called Redbricks.

Job Title: Residential Property Conveyancer
Location: Cambridge (will consider other locations)
Business Unit: Residential Property
Professional Supervisor: Residential Property Business Unit Head. Liaising with Other Residential Property lawyers and PAs in the Unit.
Major objectives of the role: To pro-actively manage a full caseload to a high standard of client service (say 60 live matters) of predominantly sales and purchases (but also remortgages and transfers) with modest administrative support and minimal supervision.


Required Skills
IT savvy – this team works completely electronically.
Good organisational skills to balance the demands of multiple clients.
The successful candidate will be required to work efficiently and be able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
Good communication skills – reporting and liaising with clients and the rest of the team/firm.

Required Knowledge
The entire conveyancing process.
Freehold and leasehold properties, to include newbuild.
Land law.
Up to date Conveyancing Quality Scheme training record.
Up to date AML legislation applicable to property transactions.

Possible experience most likely to help with successful performance of the role

A proven track record of managing own caseload of residential property matters, from initial instruction through to completion, including freehold and leasehold, sale and purchase files.
Exposure to Help-to-Buy and similar Government initiatives.
The extension of residential property leases, both under the LRHUDA93 and by agreement.
A working knowledge of trusts & estates law.
Proven history of attracting new clients and/or a following of repeat clients.
