Purchasing Administrator

Haven’t worked in Supply Chain before? Not a problem! If you’re someone who enjoys a fast-paced and varied role, you’ll fit right in. We’re looking for an experienced administrator to support the Supply Chain team to deliver the right material at the right price and quality to specified timescales. Referred to internally as Purchasing Coordinator, this role could be your first step into a successful career within Procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with critical and key suppliers within remit and ensure compliance with CMR documentation
  • Maintain accuracy of purchase order data and in conjunction with Finance and resolve any price discrepancies
  • Assist with sourcing alternative materials and in the selection and qualification of new suppliers
  • Purchase all Materials, custom and standard parts within remit
  • Expediting of purchase orders to ensure on time deliveries
  • Work closely with goods inwards to resolve any incoming material discrepancies, communication of these to the supplier
  • Organising the return of faulty materials as instructed by QC
  • Preparing necessary information in the appropriate format such as an Excel spreadsheet or PowerPoint presentation
  • Collating information as and when required and making any relevant updates to the system or reports

We’re a high growth company and as such roles change and evolve. We’d expect you to be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Supply Chain remit that helps the team deliver its objectives

 

About you

A natural communicator hopefully goes without saying, but in addition we’d like you to have:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence using ERP systems or the ability to pick up systems quickly with no prior knowledge or experience
  • Good negotiation skills
  • A self-motivated and customer focused approach
  • A flexible, responsive approach and mindset to work productively in a busy environment
  • Willingness to adapt to the changing needs of customer requirements
  • A genuine desire to help and support team members so that we can all achieve our best
