This is an exciting time to join our small, focussed team of strategy consultants as we have an ambition to grow our strategy consulting practice significantly over the next 2-3 years.
We work with our clients across the Industrial, Energy and Consumer sectors to ensure not only that disruptive technology is understood but that the business model, market offerings and operations are all set up for success. You will take project delivery responsibility, being the Project Manager of the internal team and the day-to-day point of contact for the client. You will be involved from scoping the approach, setting out what we’ll do for the client and managing the work, to delivering results.
We combine highly creative lateral thinking with excellent commercial and technical skills to form a powerful team centred on combining strategic and analytic processes with supporting the creative needs of the client.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to lead and support the delivery of project work through primary and secondary research, analysis of data, development or reports and presentation of findings to internal teams and clients. Your skills and energy will make a significant contribution to consultancy projects. Often you will be working on more than one project concurrently to deliver some of the following:
- Undertake desk-based research and analysis of results for client projects
- Communicate with commercial, technical and operational opinion leaders
- Develop recommendations, strategies and write project reports
- Chair meetings and facilitate workshops and present findings to internal teams and clients
- Take a lead role in defining projects and generating proposals
In addition, you will work closely with our senior commercial leads to identify opportunities and address client needs with a suitable solution.
Our consulting activities are centred primarily in Europe and the US, but with a growing client base in Asia. Project work is usually based in the Cambridge UK office but with regular client workshops on client sites. (NB The Covid-19 pandemic is temporarily restricting travel and office-based working so on a temporary basis, much of our business is being conducted remotely).
What you can bring
You will have a good technical or business degree in a relevant field with demonstrable expertise gained in a consulting or commercial environment. Relevant project management experience is important, whilst sales and business development experience would be advantageous.
You will have excellent team working skills, with energy, flexibility and a constructive approach to challenges. You will also have a well organised and structured approach to problem solving and excellent oral and written communication.
This role has varying levels of responsibility, but ideally you will have the ability to lead some (or all) of the type of work undertaken by the group, and be comfortable working with clients at all levels within our client organisations.
