Opportunities for permanent roles in a range of business sectors

Product Manager

The CCDC’s portfolio of knowledge-driven software is at the forefront of industrial life sciences applications, as well as academic research and education. This is an exciting time for the CCDC as the organisation is broadening it’s product portfolio to include new product suites, as well as including more machine learning algorithms and web delivery to the portfolio. To complement this growth, and guide innovative product development in existing and new markets, the CCDC is looking for a Product Manager to join our expanding Product team. You will combine your leadership and decision-making, with effective collaboration across different audiences (such as customers, developers, scientists and sales executives) to help us prioritise the right projects and deliver the advances that our customers really want.

As a Product Manager for an area of the CCDC portfolio, including at least one product suite, you will be responsible for establishing strategy at the product suite level, and developing projects in that area. You will engage with existing and new customers to understand their key pain points and opportunities that we can address, as well as collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation in Science, Commercial, Operations and Data to establish strategic priorities from an organisational perspective. You will collaborate with our Agile teams to guide development in this area, and help deliver new capabilities to the market through our launch processes. You will be passionate about delivering a great experience for our customers, and aware of the scientific landscape that the CCDC and our customers work in.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience working as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role in the software industry
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate strategy, roadmaps and vision to a range of audiences
  • A data-driven approach to prioritisation and decision-making, with the ability to understand multiple viewpoints and competing priorities
  • Excellent stakeholder management, building great working relationships with customers and colleagues across the organisation
  • Comfort leading without direct authority, using collaboration, negotiation, influencing, and active listening
  • Focus on outcomes not output, using adaptive planning techniques
  • Knowledge of Agile values and principles

For further details on this exciting opportunity, please see the full job description and person specification as detailed on the Careers page of our website. The base for this role is Cambridge, but we are a flexible employer and you may be able to work from a location other than this as agreed with your line manager. Candidates should be aware that you will be expected to attend the offices occasionally as needed for the role.
