This Legal Assistant is an important member of the Corporate Legal Team, which has global responsibility for compliance and regulatory best practice, support to Mergers & Acquisition activities, litigation, non-customer contract negotiations (procurement), legal support to other back-office functions and to resourcing corporate initiatives within AVEVA.

The successful candidate will report in to Legal Counsel (Corporate) and will be responsible for supporting all Corporate Legal activities (as set out above) including drafting documentation, reviewing agreements and with primary responsibility for administrative support to the Corporate Legal function.

Whilst the role is offered primarily as an entry level position within the Corporate Legal team with a focus on providing administrative support, it is intended the role will offer the opportunity for career development and progression with support from AVEVA for the individual to pursue a legal qualification if desired.

Key Accountabilities
• Administrative support to the Corporate Legal function generally including support to M&A activity, integration related initiatives, company secretarial and administering current legal processes, structures and procedures within AVEVA Group.
• Administration of the central service desk to prioritise and allocate incoming work from various business units.
• Review of lower level purchasing commercial contracts with suppliers.
• Creation of contracts (NDAs, services agreements, consultancy agreements etc) using standard templates.
• Managing, updating and versioning legal templates in use by the business.
• Assist with the development, maintenance and updating of legal systems and records.
• Legal research and providing updates on changes to applicable laws and regulations.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, manuals and work instructions.
• Implement and evolve compliance systems for the purpose of providing sufficient record keeping diligence to demonstrate compliance with applicable laws.
• Establish good working relationships with his/her line manager and all business units.
• Liaising with external counsel and relevant authorities.
• General administrative support: co-ordinating meetings, administering signature process and filing of contracts, arranging couriers, notarisation, managing shared inboxes and team action lists etc.

Key Relationships
Your day to day work will primarily involve liaison with colleagues within the corporate legal team, and occasionally the commercial legal team and other functions.

Essential Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
• Strong academic background to A-Level standard as minimum.
• Ability to work to timescales and independently prioritise and manage workload and work effectively within a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent clerical and administrative skills and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently.
• Enjoys improving standards and processes in a fast-growing customer-oriented business environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Software.
Desired Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Degree from a recognised university (LLB or qualifying equivalent law degree beneficial).
