Logistics Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for an organised and conscientious Logistics Technician to join our Logistics team at the LGC Fordham site. 

Job purpose:-

The Sports & Specialised Analytical Services (SSAS) department at LGC, Fordham, provides a range of scientific services to a wide range of organisations including animal sport regulators, nutritional supplement manufacturers, and the work place testing market.  These services include expert sample analysis, data interpretation, sample collection kit supply and secure sample storage. The Logistics team are a small team within the department who manufacture and provide sample collection kits for sports regulators and workplace testing providers, along with sample storage for nutritional supplement manufacturers and co-ordination of courier services globally.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:-

  • Manufacture and package sample collection kits for distribution worldwide
  • Ensure manufactured sampling kits pass QC procedures to the highest standard
  • Arrange and track courier consignments to and from countries across the world
  • Process documentation for transport of kits & samples within & outside of the UK
  • Interact with customers in a calm and professional manner
  • General administrative duties, including computerised record keeping

Education, experience and technical skills:-

  • General standard of qualifications (GCSE, NVQ)
  • Basic computer skills: Use of web browsers, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Understanding Good Record Keeping principles
  • Customer Services Experience is desirable
