Quality Control Team Leader

We are looking for a Quality Control Team Leader to join our team in Royston (near Cambridge). You will have proven quality experience within an engineering environment.

We are recruiting for this new exciting position at our site in Royston |near Cambridge|. Here we manufacture complex electro-mechanical equipment primarily for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. We are expanding production at the site and our Quality Control function has a position for a Team Leader. You will manage a team of QC technicians, oversee quality control activities and participate in internal and external audits.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • Overseeing the entire quality control activities at the site

  • Responsible for line management of quality control technicians

  • Liaising with the planning, production and manufacturing engineering teams to understand workload and business requirements

  • Conducting QC tests and inspecting products in accordance with the QC procedures

  • Ensuring that the required QC data is recorded into the production records

  • Preparing QC data and for quality management reviews

  • Following up on the timely resolution of QC test failures

  • Ensuring that the QC capacity and capability is aligned with the business requirements

  • Advising on any additional QC tools | equipment required for the team to operate efficiently

  • Participating in internal and external audits as appropriate

What will convince us:

  • A degree in engineering, science or similar discipline or equivalent

  • Proven experience in a quality function in engineering environment

  • Thorough understanding of QC techniques and test methods

  • Previous team management experience

  • Ability to converse with engineering | technical staff to discuss technical issues

  • Understanding of the importance of quality, cost and efficiency

  • Effective communication skills

  • Attention to detail and task prioritisation

  • Capable of working in a team

  • Highly motivated with a strong customer focus
