XTX Markets is one of the worlds leading market making firms with a focus across FX and Equities. We pride ourselves on building cutting edge strategies that rely on state-of-the-art technical infrastructure and research. We have a track-record of hiring some of the smartest quants, engineers and researchers within finance and technology and believe we excel at what we do without ever compromising our core values. By carrying this attitude through everything we are more than just a trading firm, we are a scientific institute and change-maker that strives to have a positive impact on all we influence.

What We’re Looking For?

We are not new to the Hardware space by any means. Our internal systems are cutting edge and have allowed us to be highly competitive in the trading space. However, we believe that we can take our systems even further which is why we’re seeking a hardware specialist who has an excellent grasp of a range of technical concepts, as well as a track record of delivering innovative products that go beyond the industry standard. We are open to inspiration and believe the right candidate will have a skillset that likely goes further than what can be written on a piece of paper, nevertheless, the basic requirements are listed below:

Necessary

  • Expertise across either FPGA or ASIC with an emphasis on Logical and/or physical design
  • Ability to write in either System Verilog, VHDL or other HDL languages
  • Intimate familiarity with the principles of formal verification in digital design

Preferred

  • Familiarity with one or more software languages. (E.g. C++, Python, Etc.)
  • Experience with PCB
  • Low-latency and high-throughput hardware design
  • Experience with x86-64 assemblers

There are many skills outside of the aforementioned which we would consider highly valuable and would be keen to learn about. Ultimately we’re looking for candidates with a range of practical and research based experiences within the hardware space.

Responsibility

As the Lead Hardware Engineer within the technology group you will take ownership of all current hardware related projects, conduct research to advance their cutting edge systems by implementing niche out-of-the-box thinking and lead other engineers within the team to meet business requirements. This is a hands-on role and you’ll be expected to pick up new hard skills as well as push yourself out of your comfort zone to keep XTX’s systems on the frontier of hardware development.

What We Offer?

We offer a close-knit collaborative start-up feel with compensation that will exceed industry standard several times over. We pride ourselves on the high-retention rate of our staff and overall employee satisfaction and alongside the leading compensation and benefits package, the biggest upside of working XTX are the challenges you will face and the learning you will be exposed to.

XTX is also a proud partner of Great Ormond Street Hospital, The Trussell Trust and many NHS Charities with a firm belief that it is the moral responsibility of those who can to always give back.
