RF Intern Engineer - Qualcomm - Cambridge, UK / 3 Months

This role would be ideal for an engineering under-graduate in electronics, mathematics, computing or physics. The primary role of the Radio Integration and Optimization Group (RIOG) is the bring up, evaluation and optimization of new radio designs. The group consists of multi-disciplined engineers (RF, Analogue, Software and Digital). The intern role is predominantly lab-based working at circuit, cell, subsystem and system level.

The intern will be assigned to a project involving the optimization of the radio. They will work directly with analogue and digital designers, systems engineers and radio control firmware engineers to provide a complete radio solution suitable for verification and validation across temperature and manufacturing process skews. Typical tasks include:
  • Generation of Python test scripts for automated measurements
  • Writing Embedded C code for control of radios
  • Optimization of RF hardware
  • Technical report writing
Minimum Qualifications   Students currently studying for a B.Sc. (Hons) Engineering, Physics, Computing or Mathematics
Preferred Qualifications  
  • Competent in Matlab, Python or other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with radio test equipment
