3PS Demand Planner (DP) 12 Month Secondment / Fixed Term Contract

The role:

3PS Demand Planners (DP) ensure supply of products that AZ have divested, yet continue to manufacture for our partners. This is achieved through proactively managing the transition and execution of order management and forecasting to our external customers with whom we have supply contracts with. It is the engine room of the third party supply organisation and critical to achieving excellent execution of our operational commitments. The DP is the point of contact between over 30 external customers and the relevant global supply network and functions.

The role sits within the 3PS and Business Development within GSC&S and is an excellent opportunity to join a recognised Hard-working Team gaining exposure to the end to end Global Supply Chain, presenting with Operations sites and a central point in the supply and demand process.

The role also enables individuals to represent 3PS in cross functional projects and networks to gain a wider experience for personal growth and development. Demand Planners have a clear line of sight to the patient which enables the role holder to see true impact of the supply of our products.

Key accountabilities:

  • Co-ordinate SOTC (Sales-Order-To-Cash) and MAH (Marketing Authorisation Holder) transition to external customers and any associated pack changes

  • Forecast demand management with validation of forecasts and corresponding Customer Purchase Orders in line with contractual agreements. Focus on 3-24 month horizon

  • Manage forecasts through AZ systems and processes (New pack code creation, MasterData set up, APO MTO)

  • Manage orders and ensure any short term demand changes, supply issues and outstanding events are appropriately handled and communicated to both external customers and AZ sites.

  • Alert monitoring and co-ordination, monitoring & customer concern of order delays that may impact delivery (OTIF)

  • Exchanging external customer and site intelligence with the Customer Account Managers via simple and standardised processes

  • Drive standardisation and simplification of business processes using LEAN capability framework to improve ways of working and reduce waste

  • Support to Alliance Management Team providing Supply Agreement knowledge and input to new contractual terms if & when required

  • Represent DPs in nominated projects and initiatives (e.g. switch programs, business process improvement and SME development, digital & automation)

Essential skills & experience:

  • Understanding of Global Supply Chain & Manufacturing

  • Planning, Distribution or Site experience 

  • Customer or supplier management background

  • Technical expertise & systems knowledge ( SAP, APO etc.)

  • Proven analytical skills

  • Problem solving ability

  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially across cultures & with external organisations

  • Partner management
