Administrative Assistant

We are seeking an experienced administrator to support a growing team which enrols patients and healthy volunteers in ground-breaking health research. Our work contributes to the understanding and tackling of diseases at a national scale, including COVID-19 and rare diseases. This position will suit an individual with a keen eye for detail, who enjoys working within a fantastic team and engaging with members of the public.

About the role:

As Administrative Assistant you will be supporting our friendly Recruitment and Recall team by:

  • Dealing with enquiries
  • Liaising with volunteers to obtain consent, health and lifestyle information
  • Collating and inputting data
  • Carrying out general administrative tasks, such as ordering resources, arranging patient biosample collection
  • Occasionally attending events to promote our work and enrol more volunteers

About you:

Ideally you should:

  • Have administrative experience, including inputting data
  • Be competent in Microsoft Office applications; mainly Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to prioritise work effectively and have good organisational skills

This appointment is full-time, 36.5 hours per week; part-time down to 60% will be considered. Work-life balance is important and we are very open to discussion on flexible working, including hybrid working.

The post is available on a fixed-term basis until 30 November 2022 in the first instance. NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) on a 5-year funding cycle. It has been announced recently that NIHR BioResource will receive new funding for the next 5 year period, and it expects contracts to be extended beyond November 2022.

Our offices are on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, CB2 0QQ (approximately 2 miles south of the city centre).
