Airport Sales Manager

We are looking for an experienced Aviation Sales Manager to join our Cambridge City Airport, it is an excellent opportunity for you to join a dynamic business and play a key role in contributing to and supporting the continued growth within the Airport. On joining the team you will be primarily focused on developing the business aviation customer growth, equine customer growth and also plans to develop and implement the strategy to expand the cargo market at the airport. This is a singleton post with no direct reports, but overall responsibility for the growth of sales across the airport. 
 

  • Work with Airport senior leadership team, in particular the Airport Jet Centre Manager, to achieve sustainable growth in the Jet Centre and wider airport.
  • Engagement with potential customers (internal and external) and partners for business development activities. Proactively identifying, anticipating and shaping the requirement of customers in order to secure profitable business.
  • Carry out analysis of growth opportunities through market research, trade exhibitions and close customer relationships, identifying market gaps and early opportunities.
  • Conduct regular competitor analysis to understand where the Airport has a competitive advantage and to aid pursuit decisions.
  • Identify capability gaps in both the Airport and Jet Centre and propose, in conjunction with department managers capability enhancement programs in order to achieve these capabilities.
  • Provide up to date and accurate information into all monthly business planning reports such as the Airport Senior Leadership Team including monthly business reviews.
  • Lead the customer interface and proposal collation within the bid/pricing process in conjunction with commercial, operational and quality to deliver appropriately attractive proposals to our customers.
  • Responsible for deal closure on new sales across the airport

Qualifications/Experience

The candidate should have:

  • Proven sales experience within business aviation / airport environment, a strong network within the aviation industry including:
  • Air Charter Brokers, Aircraft Operators, FBO networks/customer groups
  • Experience with the Air freight/cargo market would be a significant advantage
  • Experience of exhibiting at trade shows
  • Experience of development marketing plans and communication methods (social media etc)
  • Proven track record of delivering growth within sector (FBO, regional airport, Air Charter etc)
