Assistant to the Departmental Administrator & HR Office Administrator (Part Time)

The Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics is seeking an experienced and proactive Administrator to provide support for both the Departmental Administrator in this Department and the HR function across the two Mathematics Departments, the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics and the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics as part of the HR Office.

This post will provide administrative support to the Departmental Administrator within DAMTP by undertaking duties of an administrative and clerical nature and providing secretarial support including diary management, organising meetings, keeping, maintaining and disseminating up-to date information, acting as the Department's Key Contact for the University Card Office, and other duties within the Department under the supervision of the Departmental Administrator.

In addition to their duties supporting the Departmental Administrator, the role holder will provide support to the busy Mathematics HR Office, coordinating recruitments and appointments as well as taking the lead in at least one area of HR administration.

The successful applicant will be educated to 'A' level standard or equivalent with GCSE English and Mathematics. Proficient in the use of IT, the applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and webpage and email packages. Excellent organisational and communication skills are also required together with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team.
