Job Description


To establish and build sustainable working relationships with customers in order to grow and maintain new business in all aspects for MFS.


To Identify business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry, researching and analysing sales options. Selling products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects.


  • Build and develop relationships with new customers to increase and sustain growth

  • Establish new accounts by planning and organizing a daily work schedule to call on potential sales outlets and other trade factors.

  • Be able to sell all aspects of the MFS portfolio confidently.

  • Follow up on leads from other areas of the business, including engineers with the emphasis on turning those leads into successful business opportunities, and feedback accordingly.

  • Target previous customers of MFS and identify any new business opportunities, specifically working on building those relationships and maximise selling opportunities

  • Actively seeking out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media.

  • Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone

  • Understand the needs of the customer with the ability to respond effectively with a plan on how to meet their needs

  • Have a good understanding of the business products or services and be able to advise on them


Essential Criteria

  • Essential to have Business Development and Customer management experience in a service centric environment, and ideally temperature controlled.

  • Educated to at least GCSE standard with a good command of the English language both verbally and Written.

  • A full UK driving license with no more than 3 penalty points.

  • The mobility to be able to travel around the country as the company requires.

  • You should have at least 3 years in a fast-paced sales or customer facing environment where you have been able to build relationships with demanding customers.

  • Understand the Temperature Controlled Landscape and the operational types of vehicles that we service and repair.

  • Socially adept

  • In-Depth knowledge of the temperature-controlled market ideally

  • The ability to build relationships with customers at all levels in a very time sensitive arena.

  • Having Good Commercial acumen coupled with the ability to think on your feet and make quick decisions.

  • A good geographical knowledge of the UK and being able to determine travel times on the roads.

  • Strong communication fluency

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Skills in prioritising obligations with the customer

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent time management and organisation

  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently


Desirable criteria
  • Determination and drive with a “Can Do” attitude

  • Willing to approach customers and not be fazed by pushback

  • Competent on all Microsoft programs, word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Being able to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written form
