Business Development Manager

We are looking for an experienced Business Development professional with a background in engineering or have previous experience working in a technical consultancy, focused on driving commercial and profitable business growth.

Job Overview:
We are looking for a Business Development Manager who will play a key role in achieving and managing sales in specific regions/markets to support the future growth of eg technology. The successful applicant will work closely with the Director of Business Development to help generate, develop and close sales opportunities with new and existing clients. This role is primarily office based with frequent national and some international travel required to visit prospective clients, network events and conferences.

You will be creating, generating, developing and closing sales opportunities, liaising with the Business Development & Marketing team to target prospective clients and attending networking events and exhibitions to drive in sales.

Ideal candidate requirements:
A confident and presentable person who strives to bring in new business to a company. Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and aptitudes:

  1. Have considerable experience working within sales, generating leads and closing sales.
  2. Experience in eg technology specific industry sectors i.e. MedTech, Lab/BioTech, VetCare, CleanTech, AgriTech, Consumer or food and drink.
  3. Confident in presenting and engaging with potential clients.
  4. Developing and managing client accounts.
  5. Writing technical proposals.
  6. Managing opportunities and accounts through a CRM; HubSpot or similar.
  7. Engineering background or transferable skills in any of the eg disciplines
