This is a key role reporting to the Head of External Commercial Product (ECP) supporting the wider CM&S leadership team and organization through owning and leading the ECP business processes feeding into both the Programme and Study BPO’s in CM&S. The role holder is accountable to ensure that all business processes associated with ECP are efficient, effective, and fully embedded with continuous improvements captured and implemented with use of process maturity aligning with business goals. The role is critical to maintain a standard approach across both Therapy Area’s driving organizational effectiveness.

Maintaining exceptional service levels (>99.9%) whilst delivering business process improvements linked to waste, agility, and lead time reduction goals.
Global Orchestration and execution of ECP Processes
Own the E2E Value Stream for ‘ECP Sourcing & Execution' feeding into both Set up and manage Study and Programme and Clinical Operations processes.
Engage & lead a business process network.
Own and update process maps and associated documents and work with Sub-Process Owners to ensure all levels of process are accurate.
Leadership of the process by advancing process maturity, continuous improvement, and transformation
Engage with users of the process to identify and assess ideas for simplification & improvement of the process.
Monitor Process performance, including quantitative metrics, and Drive Improvement.
Define and incorporate Local business processes to support Regional ECP as part CM&S longer term Vision.
Work with other BPOs as needed to ensure alignment and improve the E2E value chain.
Participate and contribute to internal and external benchmarking.
Engage in audits, inspections, and audit response process.
Identify and manage issues & risks, and advance to EPO as required.
Provide input to CM&S strategic workforce planning and organizational development aligned with process needs.
Align training to the standard process and help shape forward Learning & Development strategy. Active member of ECP leadership team as owner of the key common business process
Drive a culture of process centricity and continuous improvement.
Process Maturity Reviews – Collate, apply data to share, collaborate and prioritize continuous improvement activity for sub processes and overall processes.
Genba – Ensure a programme of Genba to enable process confirmation, support improvement and demonstrate engagement. Lead or attend genba's outside direct control for both personal & ECP process development.
Project management – Lead projects associated with improving the processes associated with ECP.
Process Confirmations – Facilitation or participation in verifications of business process execution. Ensure a programme is in place covering all sub processes.
Level 0 or Practical Problem Solving – Facilitation or participation related to a process opportunity.
Process Reviews – Work with SPOs to ensure that all applicable process maps and documents are accurate.
BPM Business Benefits – Confirm alignment of BPM objectives to CM&S priorities and share successes.
Risk management of the process – identification, documentation and management of risks and issues.
Essential Experience & Skills
Degree or equivalent experience or equivalent professional qualification
Leadership experience in a procurement, supply chain or clinical operations environment.
Strong negotiator and influencer with senior partner leadership skills.
Evidence of leading in a matrix environment and capable of working at all levels
Ability to partner across diverse business areas
Project and Change Leadership
Strong engagement skills to engage well with process users to drive improvement.
Demonstrate: Lean, Process Excellence, and Business Process Management tools and ways of working
