CCMM Research Laboratory Technician

Applications are invited for a Technician to work with Professor Ruth Cameron and Professor Serena Best at the Cambridge Centre for Medical Materials in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy.

The post is part of an EPSRC funded project entitled "PEEK-OPTIMA as a Platform for Natural Total Knee Replacement".

The duties will include - installation and running of a number of pieces of equipment in the labs - ordering general laboratory consumables and running equipment - setting up accounts based on usage- and management of budgets for maintaining the equipment - providing support for basic cell culture experiments - day to day management of Health and Safety issues associated with the labs and ensuring that group members have appropriate documentation in place and filing of these forms - undertaking calibration work and electrical testing of equipment in the labs

Applicants should have of be a graduate in an appropriate field such as Materials Science with relevant expertise and knowledge of database construction. The post requires good communication and IT- skills and systems knowledge.
