An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Custodian with experience of general maintenance to join our in-house Facilities team. Working as part of the team, the duties of the role include cleaning, monitoring key plant and equipment, reporting faults, conducting minor maintenance / building repairs / minor building works and liaising with contractors.
This is an interesting and varied role, which will also require the individual to undertake security checks of the premises (including locking and unlocking of buildings), porterage, assist in office moves and preparation of teaching rooms.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate basic factual knowledge of custodial work, including DIY and general maintenance and have practical experience of cleaning or custodial duties. An awareness of health and safety and fire issues are required, alongside a flexible attitude to work, and good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. The role holder must also be able to deal with a wide range of people with the ability to prioritise and remain calm, responding to situations in an appropriate manner.
