Digital Systems Engineer

Evonetix is a start-up company which is set to revolutionize de novo gene synthesis as needed to facilitate the fast-growing and exciting field of synthetic biology. Our technology is based upon a novel silicon array, manufactured with semiconductor microfabrication techniques and capable of independent control of many thousands of miniaturized reaction sites, allowing massive parallelism of the DNA synthesis process. The silicon chip will be housed in an application-cartridge that interfaces with a 'plug and play' desktop instrument.

Our community is a closely-knit multidisciplinary team of electronic, mechanical, software and systems engineers, synthetic and surface chemists, physicists and biologists.

The Position

Working with multidisciplinary teams, including any of mechanical, systems, embedded software, cloud engineering, physicists, chemists and biologists, you will deliver electronics solutions to help create DNA. Over the next two years we will move from one-off prototypes, through Beta prototypes for early market testing to low volume production. You will have the opportunity to see your designs and assemblies through the complete development process; from concept and detail design to being hands-on in the lab building and testing.

These designs will include interfacing to our custom ASICs, delivering HDL for FPGAs and integrating these with mixed signal systems.

Evonetix are passionate about developing our staff and we will work with you to enable personal growth and development.

Skills and experience

You will be degree qualified in electronic engineering, or have equivalent experience.
