Job description

We are looking for an Engineering Manager and Operations Lead with an ability to pull together our expert hardware, software, manufacturing and support teams as we bring products to market at pace, to the highest quality.   

Oakdoor™ by PA Consulting is an incubated scale-up business that is disrupting the cyber security world of cross domain solutions.  Bringing the next generation of ingenious hardware data diodes to the most important networks in the world.  

You will build deep and collaborative relationships with customers and authorities, working closely with the Oakdoor engineering team to ensure effective product development, manufacture and support.  

Your expertise in security products and experience working with accreditation organisations will enable our current and future products to continue to protect the highest security networks in the world. 

You will be based in Melbourn(Cambridge)  as part of the engineering team and will have the opportunity to visit customer and supplier sites across the UK.  A background in security products is helpful and ability to gain UK DV security clearance is important.

Qualifications

Objectives of this role

You will be delivery focused and able to prioritise key activities which will include: 

  • Working across our engineering, manufacturing and support teams to co-ordinate product development, accreditation, manufacturing, shipping and support. 

  • Driving the adoption of long-term high-grade engineering standards. 

  • Refining our Oakdoor security products and processes including high-level design decisions and documents required to reach accreditation with various cyber security organisations, including the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). 

  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with key regulators and test partners (e.g NCSC and EMC safety). 

  • Exploring, defining and enabling the sale of products into target sectors and geographies (e.g product testing for US export). 

  • Managing and onboarding key engineering contractors and working with our manufacturing lead to manage our key supply chain partners. 

Skills and Qualifications  

  • Proven record of working with accreditation authorities or working on a high-security product. 

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
