Department of Haematology and Wellcome MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI) are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to provide a comprehensive HR support delivering a pro-active and responsive service to academic, research and professional staff, and visitors. This role is based in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre located on the Cambridge Biomedical campus and is part of the joint Haematology and CSCI administration team. Under the supervision of Senior HR Coordinator, this role will be the main HR contact for Department of Haematology, but will also provide HR service to the Institute where necessary.
The Department of Haematology is one of 16 departments and 14 Institutes within the School of Clinical Medicine (SCM) http://www.haem.cam.ac.uk/. The Institute is a world-leading centre for stem cell research with a mission to transform human health through a deep understanding of stem and progenitor cell biology (http://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk).
To perform this role effectively you will join us with experience of working administratively in an HR area and the ability to demonstrate both factual and theoretical knowledge of HR administration, including working with multiple processes and to tight regulations. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills to be able to manage good working relationships with a wide variety of people, and have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a high standard. As well as excellent organisational skills, you will have the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads to meet multiple deadlines. You will be educated to HND/HNC level, level 4/5 vocational qualification or an equivalent level of practical experience.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, trustworthy, used to dealing with highly confidential information and able to work quickly, methodically and accurately demonstrating good attention to detail. You will possess flexibility, adaptability and excellent problem-solving skills. Competent use of Microsoft Office is essential and experience of working in a science or higher education environment would be an advantage albeit, an ability to work independently and as part of a team, reliably, and to take initiative is more important.
