AstraZeneca are looking to appoint a student in the Packing Operations of the Macclesfield Campus for a 10-12 week summer intern placement. Ideally you will be in year 2 (or higher) in an Undergraduate scientific discipline. You should be passionate about Sustainability to support our team to help us achieve our Ambition Carbon Zero (which means Zero carbon emissions by 2025 and a carbon negative supply chain by 2030).
The role will involve working with many varied teams across the Network including engineering, sourcing, operating teams and production managers. You will take an active lead in the identification, scope and management of a Sustainability initiative in the Packing Manufacturing Operations. This will involve researching and gathering data to enable us to effectively define and measure the business benefits and inform future improvement initiatives. There will be opportunities to network across the Macclesfield campus to share any Sustainability learning from others in their journeys to work towards a common ambition.
Technical skills we are looking for
- Knowledge of, or keen interest in, sustainability.
- Self driven and motivated
- Strong people skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Ability to lead activities independently as well as working as a team
