People Advisor

Redgate is the leading provider of software for professionals working on the Microsoft data platform. Join us today to help bring our ingeniously simple software to more people, and help us make Redgate an even better place to work.

Redgate is growing and we are looking for a friendly and passionate People Advisor to join our team. You’ll look forward to working as part of a busy, collaborative team, having the confidence and enthusiasm to get stuck in wherever needed.

Reporting to the People Operations Manager, our People Advisors are pivotal members of the People Team, working closely with People Partners and Redgate people managers to support and advise on all aspects of the employee life cycle – onboarding, development, retention, reward, Employee Relations, and the overall employee experience.

You’ll provide operational advice on all areas of HR and will also play a part in achieving wider People Team objectives, including supporting continuous improvement projects. Fresh ideas are always welcome, if you spot something that could be done in a better way, let’s improve it!

The role covers a breadth of interesting and varied areas, with both People Coordinator and People Advisor responsibilities. We need someone that is flexible and can pivot between HR generalist advisory work and key administration tasks, being equally happy to get stuck in with detailed work , such as issuing employment contracts, supporting visa applications, completing payroll checks, benefits renewals and arranging training courses.

What makes you Redgate’s next People Advisor?

  • You have experience of working at an HR Advisor level with a general understanding of employment law
  • You can demonstrate strong organisational, planning and project management skills with evidence of the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality, accuracy, attention to detail and high standards
  • You can prioritise effectively and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • You are adept at managing upwards, influencing others and demonstrate an ability to coach others
  • You can use excel, interpret data and create reports
  • You have great written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present well, adjust style when needed and tailor content appropriately to the audience
  • You’re comfortable with a practical and pragmatic HR culture; you’ll know when to use your judgement instead of applying a policy
  • You are comfortable making decisions that consider the facts, goals, constraints, and risks
  • You can quickly build great relationships within your immediate team, wider organization, and external partners
  • You have a continuous improvement mindset and generate credible ideas and solutions
  • You’re a team player who is resourceful, meticulous, and able to multitask
  • You’re self-motivated, committed to your own personal development, and just get things done
  • Full or Part CIPD qualified (desirable)

What’s the package?

  • A great benefits package
  • £30,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending upon experience
  • You’ll work about 40 hours a week, with flexible times
  • A blend of home and office working in Redgate’s Cambridge HQ

How do I apply?

Redgate is a growing company, so if you’re comfortable with working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, passionate about the value that excellent People practices can bring to an organisation and have the skills to succeed in this role, we’d love to hear from you!
