Description of role
The Thermal Processing Technologies (TPT) team develops and delivers solutions for industry related to brazing, diffusion bonding, powder metallurgy and heat treatment processes. Materials of interest include aluminium alloys, titanium alloys, nickel base superalloys, special steels, ceramics and metal matrix composites (MMCs). We work with customers in the aerospace, nuclear, automotive, oil & gas, medical and power generation sectors. The successful candidate will enjoy responsibility for, and rapidly gain experience in, these areas. You will strengthen the core skills of an exciting and innovative team by taking on responsibilities including project management, preparation and negotiation of contract proposals, laboratory-based experimental work and preparation of reports. We are recruiting for a Project Leader/ Senior Project Leader position depending on qualifications and experience. The role will involve bidding on and delivering a wide variety of technical projects ranging from blue-sky innovation projects, single client projects to large publicly funded projects. This will require co-ordinating work across the wider TWI business to achieve the project goals. The successful applicant’s main duties and responsibilities would include:
