About the role
As a Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Conduct Supplier Audits: Ensure our suppliers meet and exceed quality standards through regular audits and assessments. Identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
  • Analyse supplier performance data to drive informed decisions. Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve supplier quality metrics.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and procurement, to ensure seamless integration of quality processes throughout the supply chain.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives. Implement best practices to enhance overall supplier quality and efficiency.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve quality issues by conducting thorough root cause analysis. Implement preventive measures to mitigate future risks.

Essential Competencies and experience:  

  • Proven experience in supplier quality engineering or a related role.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems is a plus.
  • Skilled in ERP system Oracle, IFS, SAP or similar
  • Competent in design for manufacture – able to drive design decisions where manufacturability deliverables need to be repeatable.
  • Reliability analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends. Proficiency in using data analysis tools is advantageous.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

Desired:

  • A member of a professional institute in the Quality or Engineering arena (eg the IQA, IET)
  • Green or Black belt trained in lean sigma.
  • Charted Engineer status.
  • Qualifications in inspection and measurement
