The Optoelectronics Group of the Department of Physics, University of Cambridge, invites applications for a Research Assistant/Associate to work on an ERC Advanced Grant, led by Professor Henning Sirringhaus. The project is focussed on studying the thermoelectric physics of organic semiconductors and related functional materials. The project is aiming to achieve a fundamental understanding of how the thermoelectric properties of organic semiconductors can be enhanced. You will be expected to lead the characterisation of the thermoelectric physics by temperature dependent transport measurements. You will also participate actively in collaborations with other post-doctoral researchers and PhD students working on related projects, as well as national and international partners. You will have completed a PhD degree in a relevant field such as Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or Electrical Engineering. You will have a strong background in semiconductor physics and experience in temperature dependent transport measurements on organic semiconductors.
Appointment as a Research Associate is dependent on having a PhD including those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD (in which case appointment will initially be made at research assistant level and amended to research associate when the PhD is awarded).

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
