Research Funding Coordinator
LOCATION: Cambridge Research Strategy Office, The Olds Schools, Cambridge
Are you an organised, proactive problem solver with the drive to support a world-class research environment from a strategic perspective?
The Research Funding Team, part of Cambridge Research Office, welcomes applications for the role of Research Funding Coordinator. The successful applicant will play a key role in implementing University policy in connection with funding calls where applications are limited by the funder, following and helping to improve relevant internal processes. You will support the development of grant applications of strategic significance by working with researchers as well as other professional services staff, drafting guidance and templates, and liaising with funders.
As part of our team, you will support the University's relationships with a number of major research funders by planning visits and workshops, analysing University engagement and performance, and maintaining funder knowledge. Where required, you will coordinate institutional responses to relevant funding calls and manage institutional grants, helping to ensure these funds are used to support pertinent and innovative research.
You will be qualified to degree level and have operational or project management experience as well as strong interpersonal and writing skills. Knowledge of the Higher Education sector and in particular, the research environment, is desirable.
The Research Funding Team is based in the Research Strategy Office, which supports the work of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and International Partnerships, the Heads of School and the Research Policy Committee. The Research Funding team works in a hybrid manner spending two days per week at the Old Schools in the historic heart of Cambridge and working from home the rest of the week, with the option to spend more days in the office as needed/preferred. We are a welcoming, internationally diverse team and Office, covering a variety of responsibilities, including devising and implementing strategies to maintain and increase the University's research funding; shaping the University's response to a changing research landscape; and enhancing Cambridge's standing as a world-leading institution.
