The Office of Scholarly Communication wishes to recruit a Scholarly Communication Support to join our team in providing friendly and efficient support to researchers, administrators and librarians across the university. The Office of Scholarly Communication is based at the University Library.

A key responsibility of the role-holder is to provide effective support for researchers by uploading article submissions to the University's institutional repository, Apollo. They will be responsible for checking that submissions meet funder requirements and will also provide helpdesk support to researchers, fielding queries relating to funding and funder policies on a regular basis. The role holder will also occasionally work on the deposit of books, book chapters, theses, datasets and other research outputs into the repository.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to ongoing discussions about workflow and service development. There is an expectation that the role holder will correspond with the academic community.

The role incorporates other tasks such as occasional secretariat and technical support for meetings and events, preparation of materials for the newsletter, assisting with outreach activities and a range of activities that arise as part of a dynamic and fast changing environment.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and they will have experience of a variety of IT platforms, systems and tools. Applicants should be willing to learn and be a flexible team worker who is proactive and able to use initiative. This role has the option of hybrid working, subject to agreement between the successful candidate and their Line Manager.
