TWI provides research, innovation, testing, software and consultancy services to develop new technologies, improve existing industrial processes and ensure safe and profitable operation of engineering assets. We undertake projects for clients in a wide range of sectors, including oil and gas, power generation, automotive, aerospace, and construction. A new opportunity has arisen, based in TWI Headquarters in Cambridge or TWI’s offices in Middlesbrough. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated candidate with project management background to support the technology transfer team in ensuring the project targets are achieved in a timely manner. The candidate will report to Head of Technology Transfer and will work with the business development team and technology groups across TWI to support engagement with SME’s in Tees Valley. External funding: The European Union Regional Development Fund supports this position. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of SME engagement for Materials Integrity Research Centre. Description of role

An academic qualification in Engineering is essential, coupled with the willingness to develop and progress your career and an interest in working with leading engineering technology and innovation consultancy services. Experience in grant funding and proposal development would be advantageous.

High quality written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will confidently deal directly with clients in order to develop new business opportunities. You will have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word. You will be self-motivated, very flexible and proactive and have the ability to work to deadlines, and be expected to prioritise your workload. Candidates will demonstrate effective team working skills, adaptability when working in multidisciplinary groups and across tasks and liaising with people across the business.  

This position will require regular travel in the UK occasionally.

  • Manage a variety of technology transfer projects or work packages
  • Perform activity and resource planning
  • Organise and motivate cross-functional project team
  • Monitor project timelines and prioritise
  • Cost estimating and developing budgets
