We have an exciting opportunity to join our procurement team at the Department of Veterinary Medicine.
You will undertake a full range of duties to support the procurement of goods and services on behalf of the Department, Hospital and Research Groups to ensure the smooth running of the procurement and stores service. You will provide the first point of contact for staff and students seeking procurement related information and guidance.
You will have GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 or above and/or equivalent level of work-based experience. You will be familiar with use of MS Excel and use of on-line procurement systems and will have demonstrable knowledge of facts, principles, processes, and general concepts related to purchasing and stores.
Good written and communication skills and interpersonal skills, a patient attitude, tact, and diplomacy are important, as is the ability to work as a proactive team player.
The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, whilst achieving accuracy and paying attention to detail, is imperative. You will also be required to work on your own initiative within the scope of your role.
