T&I Applications Test Engineer

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in testing and quality control and be a reliable and competent professional. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to take on the initial tasks of Applications Test and to create the test environmentMain duties include:Application quality assurancePerformance and load testingFunctional testingCreating, writing and executing test scriptsDocumenting test resultsCommunicating findings to technical and non-technical colleaguesWorking towards departmental and project deadlinesLiaise with internal teams (Product Management, Product Owners etc.) to understand requirements and develop testable Acceptance CriteriaProvide test estimates to support project costing and task planningDevelop automation frameworks to deliver efficient and effective testingPeer review QA and teamworkPrioritise workload to meet agreed commitmentsCapture, record and document bugs allowing Development teams to readily reproduce issuesThis role requires the candidate to already have, or be able to obtain, UK Security Clearance

Skills & Experience (Essential):

  • Minimum 3+ years' proven experience in a similar, relevant QA role 
  • Multichannel testing across web, mobile and native applications
  • Exploratory, Automated, Non-functional, API, Load and Performance testing
  • Experience managing test environments
  • Demonstrable Software testing experience across full SDLC
  • Knowledge and experience of developing robust, maintainable, efficient automated test frameworks
  • Coding skills to develop framework and automated tests using tools such as Gherkin, Visual Studio (C#), Selenium
  • Ability to develop clear, concise, test plans and cases
  • Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents
  • Understanding of how to rigorously test software using various techniques


Skills & Experience(Desirable):

  • Agile/SCRUM methodologies
  • Reporting tools such as Jira
  • Knowledge of radio systems
  • Testing in different environments including Web, iOs, Android and Universal Windows applications
