An exciting opportunity has arisen within Plant Sciences to join the Department administration team as our Undergraduate Teaching Administrator. Plant Sciences is part of the School of Biological Sciences. The Department has an international reputation and welcomes staff, students and visitors from across the world. There are 185 staff including Teaching Officers, Research Fellows, postdoctoral researchers and professional services staff. Over 100 postgraduate students are involved in PhD and MPhil research programmes.

This key student-facing role supports the Teaching Co-ordinator, Natural Sciences Tripos organisers, and teaching technicians, in the efficient organisation and delivery of all aspects of undergraduate teaching. They are a point of contact for students and staff and provide administrative support to the Department Teaching Committee and to course management and consultative committees. They organise annual field courses (one UK-based and one in Portugal), arrange student recruitment sessions, and produce course publicity material and student handbooks.

This is a varied and interesting role for a motivated individual. The successful candidate will have previous administrative experience in an educational environment. They will have strong IT skills and be an excellent communicator. They will enjoy working both within a team and independently, be able to prioritise efficiently and to meet regular deadlines. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn Moodle (Virtual Learning Environment), Panopto (online video recording system) and other University computing systems such as CamSIS (student records system) is desirable.
