Workplace Health & Safety Manager, UK - Fixed Term Contract, between 9-12 months, based from Cambridge

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing and delivering workplace health and safety policies and procedures across multiple sites in the UK.
• Expected to take a lead on health & safety projects and initiatives providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues.
• Work with the UK Workplace Experience Hosts & Workplace Experience Coordinators to ensure AVEVA offices and colleagues operate in compliance with appropriate local H&S legislation.
• Conduct local Workplace Risk Assessments as required and manage resolution of any issues which may be highlighted.
• Support colleagues working from home as part of Dynamic Work.
• Engage across the region with the Workplace Experience Team, HR, IT, Location Leads etc to drive a positive safety culture.
• Support with emergency planning and take a lead in responding to emergenices
• Manage and maintain health & safety framework or management system ensuring legislation and AVEVA policies/ procedures are implemented
• Provide support and guidance to Real Estate & Workplace Experience team, and site leadership teams, and acts as competent person when appropriate.
• Develop creative and innovative solutions and interventions, including measurement, to support the drive for proactive safety management working closely with colleagues to ensure consistency across sites.
• Oversee the delivery of health & safety training including inductions, first aiders etc
• Carry out site inspections, risk assessments, accident investigation, hazard identification
• Acts as local/site competent person for the location they are based in, or others remotely as needed, may deliver and manage day to day workplace health and safety activities and tasks as well as supervising others to complete the same
• Expected to lead on health & safety projects and initiatives, with limited guidance from Regional Workplace H&S Manager or Regional Head of Workplace Experience and provides guidance to local colleagues.
• Works with Workplace Experience Manager or Regional Head of Workplace Experience to identify, manage and reduce and workplace related risks and hazards.
• Support Occupational Health provision working closely with HR colleagues ensuring all health surveillance requirements are met.
• Coordinate local/site specific or multi-site workplace health and safety training and awareness courses and information for colleagues – including fire warden, first aid training and rota management.
• Support Regional Workplace Health & Safety Manager or Regional Head of Workplace Experience in developing and implementing workplace health and safety policies, processes and procedures within AVEVA offices.
• Continually review internal policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date with the lates regulatory requirements relevant to the region and countries therein.
• Lead and guide the team in the investigation of all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) incidents or accidents and ensure the required reords are completed and stored. Ensure lessons learned are captured, communicated and HSE system updated as required.
• Prepare and chair WHS Committee Meetings in line with requirements and/or attend Works Council Meetings.
• Work with the Global Travel Team, Business Continuity Manager and Physical Security Team to assess and manage travel related risk.
• Prepare and deliver internal and third-party audit requirements. Provide data for external tenders and bids.
• Manage third party/supplier relationships.
• Communicate with regulatory offices as required and ensure all AVEVA UK locations are complient with local requirements.
 


Qualifications:
• Proven experience in large global organisation
• Proven leadership and management experience within a matrix, multi-site role able to communication and engage with a wide range of stakeholders
• Strong technical knowledge
• NEBOSH, NCRQ Diploma or an equivalent with membership of IOSH or other relevant professional body
• Self-motivating and able to work as part of a team
• Ability to manage and deliver tasks relating to multiple sites
• Good knowledge of basic PC skills – email, Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Good administrational and reporting skills
• Able to interpret health & safety legislation, policy and best practice and implement as needed within AVEVA
• Excellent Customer Relationship management skills
• Able to lead a virtual team and obtain support from Workplace Managers to use site resources.
• Knowledge of dealing with ergonomics and workplace health and safety
• Regional workplace health and safety knowledge and experience across multiple countries
• Flexible to deal with any situation
• Excellent organisational skills
