An Elderly Person in your life - Making the role work for you
This workshop is designed to help staff reflect on how they can best incorporate responsibility for older family members or friends with the day to day demands of their work and home life.
Participants may be planning or already involved in support for an elderly person. They will explore tools and techniques to help build resilience and improve knowledge and confidence. By bringing together colleagues who are thinking about similar issues the workshop also provides an opportunity to network and work together to share challenges and find solutions.
The half-day workshop, which combines trainer input, individual reflection and practical activity, will help those thinking about what will happen as a person they are close to ages as well as supporting those who are already incorporating the needs of an elderly person in their lifestyle.
It aims to explore positive approaches to preparing for and responding to the unexpected changes and challenges that occur when adjusting to the increasing needs of an elderly person. The aim is to reduce anxiety and stress in managing the new role, with positive impacts for well-being.
