StayingAwake Leadership Training

Outline

“Leadership is a privilege, those who have the privilege to lead, have the duty to act. It’s what you learn after you think you know it all that counts,” Lolly Daskal. Lolly talks about how the EGO of a leadership role actually ‘edges greatness out.’

With all best intentions to make a difference, many of us become stretched in our senior management roles, so that we do not have time to reflect and continue learning. After all, we have worked hard to get where we are, why would we need to learn anything else? If great companies talk about people being their main asset, then great leadership needs to mirror this through everyday actions. This includes being humble enough to expect more from yourself and your employees and inspire through consistent execution and results. So how do you do this?

Core topics developed during this workshop:

  • How to lead, including looking at leadership blocks within you and the organisation
  • What is mental toughness of leadership, and the benefits of vulnerability
  • How to create exponential thinking in leaders/ thinking outside the box
  • Authenticity module - how to be more relatable, accepting and sharing
  • How to become more aware of people’s perspectives that will affect behaviour & results
  • Managing how we get stuck in the introspective

Workshop Content

  • Welcome, introductions and review personal objectives

  • Exercise - what could be some of the personal/ team and business blocks impacting progress on certain goals and challenges

  • Exercise - exploring what type of leader you are and benefits to the organisation of demonstrating kindness, transparency, ability to delegate and courage to fail

  • Exploring outside the box thinking ~ what is it that companies like Instagram can do with 17 employees that Kodak cannot do with 17,000 employees

  • A focus on how the best leaders practice acceptance of what they can and cannot change and are open to overcoming things together ~ creating a more resilient team

  • Helping team members to become aware of their limited views and encourage people to listen more to others to discover what each member brings to the team

  • Being able to re-wire your thinking as a leader includes setting time aside before each day to decide intentions, pausing for reflection during meetings and always seeking to learn & be curious. We will create daily 5 minute tasks that can be used after the training.
