Precision Questioning Workshop

Outline

This workshop is designed for individuals who wish to improve their communication and influencing skills through asking smart precision questions.   The skill that you will learn is an invaluable element of your communication skill set, and it will enhance the quality of your communication in all areas of your work.

The workshop is highly interactive and extremely interesting, and as we explore and understand how our language is filtered, you will begin to recognise why challenges in business are predominantly down to mis-interpretation of poor communication.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Be able to recognise and hear how our language is filtered, and the impact it has in our ability to communicate
  • Be clear on the purpose of questioning and what question types are designed to elicit.  This understanding will enable an increased conscious awareness of the questions you ask
  • Understand the power and impact of ‘Why’
  • Practice the skill of Precision Questioning so you can implement it immediately in your communication

 

Content

Introduction Introduction and framing of session
Question Types The different types of questions that we are generally familiar with, the structure they form and what they are designed to elicit. 
The Filters in our Language

Understanding the different filters in our language, and how we hear them playing through in our communication.

The impact these filters have in the messages we give, and how we can effectively challenge them using the art of Precision Questioning.
Practice, practice Referring to a number of statements, we will consider how to effectively challenge them back.
When you leave this session, you will understand that you can never be short of a question to ask, and it will give you increased confidence to ask one!
