Cambridge student entrepreneurs have the chance to win 1 million in the richest business plan competition in the UK.
1 million prize for student entrepreneurs
Launchit2001 aims to find the next big name in IT and telecoms.
Cross Atlantic Capital Partners and internet and techno incubator Brainspark, which has premises in Cambridge, are behind the contest, along with Guardian Online.
It is in two parts. Students and university professionals begin by submitting their most promising technology-based business ideas.
Entries are assessed by a panel of expert investment professionals and the successful candidates are then invited to enter a full business plan.
The best two or more winning ventures will be eligible for direct investment from Cross Atlantic and Brainspark totalling up to 1 million, in packages ranging from 100,000 to 500,000.
Launchit2001 is also running 'The Most Innovative University' competition, which carries a cash prize of 20,000. All that's required is a 2,000 word summary of the university's track record in innovation.
