Time is running out for those driving impact to be recognised

There are only just over two weeks left for teams and individuals to enter The Impact Awards. This award scheme is designed to recognise and celebrate the success of collaboration and innovation through knowledge transfer.

The men and women involved in knowledge transfer activities are driving some of the most entrepreneurial businesses. Dr Douglas Robertson, PraxisUnico Chair Elect and Director of Business Development & Regional Affairs, University of Newcastle said, “The translation of research for economic benefit remains a high UK priority, and its support is a key element of the national strategy and of many institutional strategies. The Impact Awards recognise those teams, and individuals, who are succeeding in working with business and who are creating the businesses and social enterprises of tomorrow.”

The Impact Awards are open to all sectors of research that have made an outstanding impact through successful knowledge transfer.

Maggie Philbin, who regularly provides analysis and comment on technology for the BBC, will be hosting and presenting the awards to the winners on 9 June 2011 in Glasgow at the PraxisUnico (the UK’s leading research commercialisation organisation), Annual Conference Gala Dinner.

To enter The Impact Awards and to have an opportunity to showcase projects to peers, opinion leaders, potential collaborators or partners, entrants must register their submission online at www.impactawards.org.uk. The deadline for entries is 6 April 2011.

Full details of the award categories, entry criteria and process can be found at The Impact Awards  website www.impactawards.org.uk, or email info@impactawards.org.uk, or call 01223 659952.
