Tax duo boosts Deloitte’s Cambridge team
Christine Harris and Lizzie Hill both move from the firm’s London office.
Christine, who has been with Deloitte since 2005, will work in the firm’s private client services team. She specialises in advising high net worth individuals and their families on income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax planning. She provides UK and cross-border planning for clients living in the UK or overseas.
Lizzie joined the firm in 2002. She will head up the Cambridge office’s private company and entrepreneurial business tax team and advises companies and their shareholders on all aspects of their affairs, particularly transactions and restructuring. With expertise in both corporate and personal tax, she also advises on share schemes, shareholder tax issues, the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs). Her clients include Redgate Software, Autonomy and Convergence Pharmaceuticals.
Richard Blackwell, tax partner at the firm, said: “Cambridge is home to many private businesses and the tax issues that they and their owners face are increasingly complex. We are delighted to be adding additional senior resource to our team at a time when demand for these specialist services is growing.”
The Deloitte Cambridge office comprises 8 Partners and over 250 staff who deliver a full range of professional services to the East Anglian region. As well as focussing on the life sciences and technology sectors for which the region has become so renowned, the office has long standing specialisms in other sectors including the professions, consumer business, food and agribusiness.
