Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50 winners

and Corporate Banking Services are pleased to announce the winners of the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50.

They represent the fastest-growing businesses in the region and will be ranked in order and announced at the Awards Ceremony in October.

Currently, UK technology companies - from biotechnology through to telecommunications, IT hardware and software - account for just over five per cent of VAT registered businesses in the UK. However, the UK technology sector is currently experiencing a rise - growing, on average, at over 25 per cent per annum since 1996, well above the UK economy's current national growth rate.

'We're a nation of innovators and inventors - we have been from the Industrial Revolution through to the present day - but sometimes we just don't shout about it enough,' said Richard Knights, lead partner for the Eastern region Fast 50 programme. 'It is time to champion the cause of the UK technology industry which, contrary to the doom and gloom written about the UK economy, it is in fact growing - and growing faster that the rest of the economy.

'The Technology Fast 50 programme is a chance for the most successful technology companies in the Eastern region to stand up and gain recognition for their financial success and contribution to the local economy,' continued Richard.
