Universidad de Las Américas Puebla Deploys Enterprise Immune System
Mexican university selects Darktrace
Darktrace, the world leader in AI technology for cyber defense, has today announced that Universidad de Las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) has selected the Enterprise Immune System to defend the data of over 12,000 students and employees against sophisticated cyber-threats.
“From the first moment that we deployed Darktrace on the UDLAP network, the AI technology has not ceased to amaze me,” commented Fernando Thompson, CIO, UDLAP. “Before Darktrace, our security team faced alert fatigue, but the Enterprise Immune System has virtually eliminated false positives, only flagging genuine threats as soon as they emerge. Being able to autonomously detect and stop unfolding attacks at their earliest signs is аn enormous feat, made possible by Darktrace’s AI.”
Deployed in under an hour, the Enterprise Immune System learns about the ‘pattern of life’ for every device and user on the UDLAP network, including the on-premise infrastructure, as well as students’ personal devices and non-traditional IT. Armed with this constantly evolving baseline of what constitutes ‘normal’ for the network, Darktrace detects emerging cyber-threats in real time. Darktrace’s autonomous response technology can then stop an in-progress attack, before it has caused any damage.
“Cyber-crime has now gone beyond just data theft and the defacing of websites to now also include attacks aimed at undermining our confidence in public institutions and private businesses,” said Justin Fier, Director of Cyber Intelligence and Analytics, Darktrace. “UDLAP is leading the charge for Latin American organizations by using Darktrace’s AI technology to defend against the entire spectrum of threats, from machine-speed ransomware to these low and slow ‘trust attacks’.
Darktrace is the world's leading AI company for cyber security.
