Leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed two new Associate Directors in its East Anglia office.
Key appointments strengthen RSM East Anglia and Cambridge offices
Simon Jones (pictured left) joins the private client services team, while James Watters (right) strengthens the employer solutions practice in both Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge. Both appointments reflect the firm’s continued commitment to invest in key talent and expertise to drive further growth for both clients and itself.
Simon joins from Moore Stephens LLP in London and has 12 years of experience working in tax with individuals and businesses, with a specialism in partnership tax. In his new role, Simon will provide wide ranging tax advice to private clients to help them meet their personal and business objectives including wealth protection, succession planning and dealing with change, both in their personal and professional lives and in the wider tax and business environment.
James (has 20 years of experience in the employment taxes field, in practice in the UK and overseas and also in industry. His experience encompasses a wide range of employment taxes compliance and planning, overseas assignment/ frequent business traveller issues and employee reward matters. He joins RSM from FTSE 100 constituent Rio Tinto plc where he was the Principal Employment Tax Adviser for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In his new role, James will utilise his considerable in-house experience to support employers of all sizes on arrangements to reduce costs, increase employee choice, offer tax efficient reward options and effectively and efficiently manage their risk and reporting obligations.
