Anthias Consulting has co-written a book published by the Royal Society of Chemistry. 'Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry: How Do I Get the Best Results?' is a practical reference guide for analysts at all experience levels.

The book provides practical guidance from the first steps of how to apply the technique of GC-MS from collecting and preparing samples to designing and validating methods, analysing results and troubleshooting.

The book is packed with clear advice, rules of thumb and step by step guides. Coloured images along with case studies and examples throughout bring the theory to life.

Dr Diane Turner, Anthias Consulting's Director and Senior Consultant and former Anthias Trainer and Consultant Dr Imran Janmohamed have worked with fellow experts from academic and industry settings to bring together this practical reference guide, Diane is also the book's editor.

The authors of the book have written and teach the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Pan Africa Chemistry Network (PACN) GC-MS course. Anthias Consulting have been extensively involved with the PACN training programme, in partnership with the Royal Society of Chemistry and GSK. Dr Imran Janmohamed facilitated at the first GC-MS training course at the University of Lagos in Nigeria in 2016. Anthias trainer and consultant Dr Giles Edwards developed the course material for the HPLC and LC-MS workshops for the PACN and delivered the first LC course in Nairobi in Kenya in 2017.

The book's expected publication date is 27th November 2019 and is available for pre-order now from the RSC bookshop.

Dr Diane Turner said: "We are immensely proud to announce the publication of our first book. This book is a much-needed practical reference for analysts at all experience levels. We are often asked by delegates on our training courses for a comprehensive reference guide and we are very happy to now be able to recommend this book! It is a culmination of all the hard work that has gone into the book over the past few years and into the PACN course material. I hope it will be extremely useful to analysts around the world."
