Marshall  Aerospace and Defence Group’s Netherlands business is this week moving to larger and smarter new  office  facilities  in  Katwijk,  two  miles from Leiden.

The move is part of the business’ continuing  expansion plans and ongoing delivery of more than 1,500 deployable container systems in the Dutch Defensiebrede Vervanging  Operationele   Wielvoertuige n (DVOW)  programme,  to update  the Dutch  Armed  Forces  with  new  vehicles,  containers  and support equipment.

It will  also provide  an in-country  base for the company’s total sustainment  contract  to maintain,  repair  and overhaul  the Royal  Netherlands  Air  Force  (RNLAF)  fleet  of  C-130s till  2032.

The  building  is located  on  technology  campus,  Unmanned  Valley,  and  formerly  housed  the  navy  air base Medical  Service.  It has been  newly  refurbished  to offer maximum flexibility  for the company’s employees, including  open  plan  layout  and  the option  of  standing  workplaces  with  lots of natural  light coming  in  from all around.

The  spacious  new  offices  will  also help  the  team easily  comply  with  the Dutch Government’s social-distancing  guidelines.

“We are very excited to move into our new office space, which will afford us a number of benefits as a team, not least the additional space to work according to our government’s social distancing recommendations,”  said General Manager of MADG NL, Irha Luijk.

The  new facility  provides  the company  larger  and improved   workshop  and  parts storage facilities  as well as additional space to increase its armed force’s operation training programme. It also provides a great platform  for  Research  and  Development for  the Group.

The  company  has been  increasing  its number  of dedicated  engineers  and  office-based   support  personnel to meet the continuing  provision in the DVOW contract and other support to the Netherlands’ armed forces.
