The official conference and events bureau for the city of Cambridge and the surrounding area has expanded its venue portfolio with four new hotels.

Meet Cambridge, which provides a free venue-finding service for those looking to hold meetings and events, is welcoming The Fellows House, Graduate Cambridge, Turing Locke Aparthotel and Hyatt Centric Cambridge.

The Fellows House which opened on 1st July, is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. Just a short walk from the city centre, the hotel features unique pieces of artwork and sculptures, all designed locally in Cambridge.

The 131 rooms include studios and one-bedroom apartments, together with Fellows Duplex apartments split across two levels. The restaurant, The Folio Bar & Kitchen, serves plant-based dishes and British classics and there’s also The Sage of Cambridge, a coffee shop and wine bar. For business meetings, the hotel’s Hawking Suite boardroom seats up to ten people and doubles up as an event space and private dining room.

Positioned on the banks of the River Cam, the 148-room Graduate Cambridge was previously the Doubletree by Hilton Cambridge City Centre, which is undergoing a complete interior renovation of all rooms, common spaces, fitness club and pool, restaurant, café and bar. The hotel’s design incorporates the history of the city, with colour palettes, patterns and textures in the public areas reflecting the green surroundings of fields and the proximity to the river.

Garden House will be the new restaurant within the hotel, with Chef Adam Wood, formerly of London’s award winning Perilla leading the kitchen with his focus on open-flame cooking and seasonal East Anglian produce.

Located in the new Eddington development, is aparthotel, Turing Locke, named after the pioneering computer scientist Alan Turing. Featuring 180 fully-fitted contemporary apartments, there’s also an all-day restaurant, bar, coffee shop, retail space and a workout studio.

For events, there are two meeting rooms and a roof terrace, which can host receptions for up to 100 guests, as well as a leafy courtyard which offers additional space.

The aparthotel will co-habit the building with the UK’s first Hyatt Centric, which will comprise 150 hotel rooms. Featuring a design inspired by its Cambridge locality, the building reflects hospitality group edyn’s commitment to sustainability with green features including protected trees, solar panels, electric car charging points and an eco-garden. An electric shuttle bus will operate to key sights in the city and bicycles will also be available for hire. Both Turing Locke and Hyatt Centric open in September.

Judith Sloane, Head of Meet Cambridge said: “We are excited to welcome four new venues to our portfolio, expanding the range of facilities and experiences we can offer to clients looking to hold events. These new properties bring an even greater choice of spaces for corporate events, offering distinctive places for delegates to stay; they complement our unique academic venues perfectly and we’re very much looking forward to working with the new teams.”

Gayle Martin, Director of Sales, Turing Locke added: “We are so thrilled to be joining Meet Cambridge, partnering with the official bureau for meetings and events. We look forward to showcasing our facilities and working with organisers on a wide range of different events.”
