AXA Health Tech & You launches Mobility and Accessibility Challenge
Partnering with Saga, AXA is on a mission to discover new innovations to help people live their best lives as they get older, through its Health Tech & You programme.
A new category has been launched today as part of the fifth annual AXA Health Tech & You Awards. The Mobility and Accessibility Challenge has been created in partnership with Saga.
As people are living longer than ever before, this exciting new Challenge category aims to discover technologies that enable people to have greater accessibility and mobility. For individuals this means expanding their range of possibilities, freeing them to follow their passions and live their lives to the full as they get older. Whether travelling on holiday or pursuing pastimes or daily activities, technology that fosters greater physical and social connectivity is instrumental in helping people enjoy more years in better mental and physical health.
The AXA Health Tech & You Awards continues to drive AXA’s mission to discover, promote and support the inventors and innovations in the fast-moving field of health tech – supporting the visionaries who are shaping the future of healthcare technology right now, and making a tangible difference to people’s health and wellbeing.
Nick Reed, Senior Manager Strategy & Innovation at Saga, says: “We’re extremely excited to be working with AXA on this year’s AXA Health Tech & You programme, to find new ways to use technology to make the lives of our members even better.
“We hope that the technologies coming through this Mobility and Accessibility Challenge will help us unlock new ways to equip our members to embrace adventure wherever they meet it, even where health had once been a barrier to doing so, to enable them to keep doing the things that they love.”
Richard Cooper, Head of Digital at AXA PPP healthcare, added: “Saga and AXA share a similar ethos in that we listen to what our customers want and need and respond accordingly. The technology we hope to see coming through this Challenge will aid people’s mobility and accessibility as they get older to help maintain both physical and mental wellness and promote independent living. We are delighted to be working with Saga as our partners on this new Challenge category.”
AXA Health Tech & You is again working with The Bakery, an innovation accelerator, to uncover new innovations from all over the world to meet the Mobility and Accessibility Challenge. It will be open for entries until 15 March 2019 and joins four previously-launched categories:
