Breath Biopsy Conference attracts over 100 researchers

Last week the inaugural Breath Biopsy Conference took place in the Cambridge Science Park, UK.

Over 100 academic and pharmaceutical researchers from around the world attended the event, which was designed to enable attendees to share their research and develop an understanding of the untapped potential of Breath Biopsy in discovery of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) biomarkers, with wide ranging applications in early disease detection and precision medicine.

Attendees heard from experts on topics including ‘The Use of Volatile Biomarkers in Monitoring of Health and Disease’, and ‘Future Clinical Applications of Breath Analysis: Asthma’. Attendees were also able to take part in a tour of Owlstone Medical’s state-of-the-art Breath Biopsy Laboratory, and poster sessions from researchers utilizing breath analysis in their studies.

Formation of the Breath Biopsy Community
Coinciding with the Breath Biopsy Conference was the launch of the Breath Biopsy Community forum. The aim of the Breath Biopsy online Community is to make it simple for researchers from all backgrounds to communicate views and ideas regarding breath research easily in one place online, to view and comment on posters and papers from the community, and to watch presentations and view material from Breath Biopsy Conferences on demand. The Community forum also allows researchers using the ReCIVA Breath Sampler to log in and request new features, as well as vote on feature requests.
