Businesses are unaware and ill-informed of the financial risks posed by new technology and need to remedy this.
Businesses unaware of technology risks
A survey by MORI has revealed that firms are unnecessarily exposing themselves with computers, e-mail and the Internet.
Companies need to end this ignorance, identify the dangers and put measures in place to prevent financial losses from security breaches and the loss of data.
'The purpose of this survey is to understand how aware UK businesses are about their technology-related risks,' said Keith Carby, of Safeonline. 'It's just basic risk management - know your exposures, take steps to mitigate them, and then insure. The fact that businesses find it hard to identify exposures means that the majority are risking unnecessary financial loss.'
