Cambridge Ahead secures two new Members

Two more key Cambridge businesses have become members of Cambridge Ahead, taking its total membership to 34 Full Members. The two new members are Hill and Gonville Hotels Ltd.

Cambridge Ahead is pleased to welcome home construction firm, Hill, and Gonville Hotels, to its membership.

Hill was founded in 1999 and is now a top 20 UK House builder, employing over 320 people across a variety of disciplines. With a head office in Waltham Abbey, Essex, Hill also has four regional offices across the South East, including one in Ickleton. The firm is very active in Cambridge with ongoing work at the Vesta and Ceres developments in the CB1 Station area and a further 274 new homes to be completed at Ninewells, just off the Babraham Road near to Addenbrooke's. In addition, Hill is due to start work on the Virido development in Great Kneighton, and has also been selected to deliver the first phase of open market housing (250 homes) at North West Cambridge for Cambridge University, which will start on site early next year.

The Gonville Hotel on Gonville Place is one of Cambridge’s top 4* hotels and is independently-owned and run. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the 84 spacious bedrooms each have an Apple iPad guest valet system, flat-screen TVs and air conditioning. The hotel offers premium conferencing facilities with its match of a stunning Cambridge setting overlooking Parker’s Piece and the convenience of a central location with free parking and its own secluded garden.

Welcoming these new members, Jane Paterson-Todd, Cambridge Ahead CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Hill and Gonville Hotels to our membership. Both are important operators in the fabric of Cambridge, and they each now have a seat on the Board so we will benefit hugely from their opinions and expertise which will further help us develop and implement our agenda for the city and its region”.
